Natacha Schinas’s Biography
At the age of 5, my family moved from Athens to Coquitlam and the Lower Mainland became my new home. After completing my first undergrad in Health Sciences at SFU, I flew to Ecuador to participate in a 6-month internship. I returned home with a strong desire to pursue medical studies and my pregnant sister introduced me to midwifery. In 2013, I moved to Ontario to study midwifery at McMaster University and returned to BC after my graduation. I value midwifery for many reasons: developing meaningful relationships, empowering clients with information, supporting choice of birthplace, and witnessing strength and love. Midwifery has taught me and continues to teach me so much. On my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with others, being outdoors, traveling and learning new languages. I am happy to speak English, French, Spanish, or Greek with you (and maybe one day German!).
